We will meet at Mfuwe airport and head up to the camp with the shuttle. After settling down at the camp and have a light lunch eventually, we will leave for the afternoon game drive around 3:30PM. Let’s look for the best scenes! While our guide will search for wildlife in the surrounding area, I will teach you how to get nice shots and provide some recommendations on how to take great pictures of animals. During the afternoon game drive, we will enjoy the softened light and make a stop on an amazing spot to watch the famous african sunset. Then, the adventure will go on in the dark, looking for our local predators waking up for hunting. The darkness offers plenty of photographic possiblities, revealing nocturnal lives and predator actions! Obviously, I will be explaining to you how to shoot in the night and give you some tips about this specific technic.

We will return to the camp around 8:00PM and have a drink while reviewing your photos. After a nice dinner, this is time to rest, african nights in safari are usefull?!

Early in the morning, after the famous pancake cooked in the boma by our devoted chef, we will leave the camp before the sunrise to enjoy the beginning of the day in the bush. As winter’s light is smooth enough, we will enjoy nice exposures for the pictures during all the game and we will come back at the camp around 10:00 after, of course, a mid-morning break to stretch your legs and have a nice cup of tea or coffee and a few biscuits.

During lunch break, from 10:30 to 15:30, I will be around to help you – or you may socialise with other guest and enjoy the swimming pool – to check the pictures, find the good ones and advise you about how getting the best of it. Everyday I’ll teach a different photographic class (Exposure, How to compose an image, How to process an image, etc.). Do not forget your favorite softwares! It would be very helpfull of course.

This wonderful Nsefu area offers plenty of amazing wildlife sightseeing. This is one a the best place on earth to experiment a photographic safari. In 12 game drives, you will discover the beauty and richness of this ecosystem that you will get lost among your pictures! So.. are your hard drives ready?!

The Camp

Zikomo is a small remote chalet camp on the Luangwa river, with only 8 chalets, you will never meet more than 16 persons in the camp. Every chalet owns its private bathroom with a shower and toilet, it also has a private deck which overlooks the Luangwa river’s wildlife, Wifi is also available at the front desk. I love this camp for its authentic and friendly mood, come as a guest, leave as a friend!

Just a few meters from the park border, the camp’s location boasts some of the world’s finest wildlife viewing: solitary leopards prowl the bush, prides of lions hunt on the floodplains, herds of elephant forage around and in the grounds of the unfenced camp. It is not unusual to be awakened by the sound of an elephant having her meal in the tree next to your window or a hippo mowing the grass with his giant mouth. The roaring of a male lion or the chuffing of a leopard are followed by the alarm calls of baboons. During dry season, large herds of buffalo follow the dwindling water in the Luangwa River and the flood plain is dotted with giraffe and impala picking off the last of the grasses.
